Rhythm and Repetition (Watercolor Paintings)

Rhythm and Repetition can kind of be tricky to teach, so I find it nice to see what other teachers have done in the past to help me figure out the best way to meet these goals and objectives for my students. With this lesson we not only talked about rhythm and repetition  but we also dove a little deeper into color. Our goal was to use warm and cool colors in out paintings.
Supplies:
12x18 White Paper
Watercolors
Paintbrushes
Pencils
Permanent Markers
Scissors
Card Stock (To cut pattern out of)
*Kids that miss a day and are behind are offered the option of using a stencil

Thanks to Teachers Pay Teachers and Create Art with ME / Michelle East this was a most helpful lesson and I appreciate you making it available for me. Sometimes LIFE gets in the way and it is easy to just search and find a relevant lesson for your class that meets everyone's needs. This fall has been crazy with our daily routines but this lesson was a success with all of my middle school kiddos!

Here are other ideas we have used from Michelle East:

It is nice having her in our PLN Personal Learning Network! Thanks, Michelle, we appreciate it.
These photos are how some of the students were able to create the projects in class.

Love the colors!
Adding texture too!
Happy....Oh so happy
Detail of whale.

Yep, love me some Art and Rhythm...Carry on and create on this fine Labor Day - 1969
